For this week’s blog post (actually for the past two weeks!) I have decided to write about video editing! I actually have a fair amount of *amateur* experience with video editing due to ever since I was in my early teens I have enjoyed filming videos and then editing them to make movies about personal hobbies, family vacations etc. I have usually used “Windows Live Movie Maker” as an editing software, however given our past lectures and take home assignment/homework I tried giving the DaVinci Resolve video programming software a go, however upon downloading it did not ‘agree’ with my computer so to speak. Unfortunately it would not run smoothly and temporarily disabled my camera and microphone. Because of this I decided to delete the programming and use a different software which I already had on my  cellphone and had used for various projects and videos. The app/programming I have been using to edit various videos about summer trips, friends and family etc. is called  InShot . You can download it from the Apple Store or Google Play.

I highly recommend that others who also like to make short videos to keep as memories to share on social media, or even just with friends and family check InShot out. You can do so here. It is user-friendly and easy to navigate!  InShot allows you to edit your video using all different kinds of effects such as filters, transitions, trim the video (or split), merge clips, adjust speed and add music in time to the video! InShot as a variety of music available to use on videos or you can also use your own downloaded music from iTunes.

Below I have two sample videos that I have made using InShot to showcase some of the things you can do with the video editing app/software. Music and artists from BOTH videos can be found on InShot under music!
